Socializing your puppy

Expose your puppy to different sounds and images :
In a perfect world, socializing your puppy would have started in the first months of life, but even if your puppy is eight months old, never too late to meet, and the process continues throughout life. Think of all the situations and environments that your puppy needs to be at ease: Riding in the car, meet new people, have contact with the children next door (and children in general), walk in street tolerate large trucks and cars, large animals like horses, vacuum cleaners and washing machines - just to name a few.

You aim primarily to prepare your dog for any eventuality so that whenever you encounter someone or something new to greet you with curiosity instead of fear or aggression. Expose your puppy to all the sights and sounds slowly, and allow you to explore and learn for themselves, for example, turn on the vacuum cleaner in another room to avoid scare a sudden noise, and let the go find it. Make sure that when you vacuum, it is a rewarding experience rather than threatening. You can do this by placing a piece of food on the vacuum cleaner. If your puppy is very shy and scared, you can start by putting a snack in the judgment void, and then work your way to your puppy to tolerate when the computer is turned on.

It is essential that your puppy is completely comfortable being with people and children. So I submit to all kinds of different people. You will meet people of all kinds: bearded, skinny, fat, tall, with hats or sunglasses, carrying bags, push bikes, etc.

However, it is important that children learn the rules of handling puppies, an adult should always supervise children and dogs. Dogs can actually see children as a different species than adults, because they move differently, speak differently and react differently from adults. Start slowly by spending time in and around playgrounds where your puppy will learn the sights and sounds of children playing. Begin by having little kids around your puppy, and build more.

It is, of course, unrealistic and even impossible to expose your puppy to everything that is likely to encounter in the future. However, if you can teach that new experiences are pleasant, he will grow up learning things and situations are unknown to explore, rather than fear. But do not be surprised if your puppy starts to show confidence already afraid of objects that was fine with his youth (about 14 months of age, depending on the breed), as it may be normal in some dogs at this age . If this happens, it is important to continue its program of socialization of periodic reassessment to expose your puppy to new experiences.

Interaction with other dogs :
It is also important that your puppy learns to interact with other dogs properly. Puppies, like all small animals, love to play games and have a vital role in the development of a dog. Dogs acquire canine communication skills by playing with other dogs as puppies.

Through play, dogs learn not to bite behavior. When puppies play physical games, they soon learn that a bed partner or adult dog will not tolerate sharp teeth pulling ears or neck. If a puppy "biting" another dog too hard, get a quick reprimand, with the other game stop dog for a short period. A puppy learns quickly to limit the strength of their "bite", and stop biting too hard when playing with other dogs.

You and your family should continue to teach your puppy not to bite. Whenever your puppy uses its teeth into your skin, you should respond with a loud cry of pain (even if it does not hurt), as this will teach your puppy to learn that the human skin with teeth touch is not allowed No matter what type it is. In addition, the game you play and your puppy should stop for a moment, which will help your puppy will learn quickly to pursue pleasure should not "bite" you.
